1941年12月7日の午前7時48分、日本軍の航空機とミゼット潜水艦の小艦隊が真珠湾を攻撃。2時間の間に、2403人のアメリカ軍人が亡くなり、1178人が負傷。USSアリゾナを含め18隻の船を失ったり損傷したりした。それは、アメリカの第二次世界大戦への参入を促し、この壊滅的な攻撃は世界に衝撃を走らせました。

USS Arizona Memorial

Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum
パールハーバーで魅力的なアトラクションの１つ（子供も楽しめる）、USSボウフィン潜水艦博物館と記念公園は、第二次世界大戦時代の潜水艦USSボウフィン船内を見学することができます。パールハーバービジターセンター近くの博物館では海底での狭い空間の生活体験が学べます。
Battleship Missouri Memorial & Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum
フォード島へのシャトルバスは15分毎にパールハーバービジターから出発しております。そこでは、USSミズリーで日本が降伏し第二次世界大戦が終結した記録を見学することができます。Also on Ford Island is the Pacific Aviation Museum, where you can view Ford Island’s damaged airfield and control tower. 博物館の主なアトラクションは、第二次世界大戦時代の格納庫の中にある印象的なヴィンテージ飛行機のコレクションです。最後に、USSオクラホマ記念館を訪問してください。アリゾナ記念館ほど知られていない大理石の記念碑は、オクラホマで命を落とした429人を称えるものです。
Pearl Harbor Historic Sites Costs
Admission to the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center and the USS Arizona is free. Entry fees apply for the following sites: USS Arizona Memorial, Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum, Battleship Missouri Memorial, and Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum.

Pearl Harbor is open 362 days a year, closing only for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. On-site parking is available for a fee. As the harbor remains an active military installation, bags, backpacks, and other items that could be used for concealment are prohibited. You can store bags at the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum and Park for a fee. A visit to Pearl Harbor is a solemn affair, filled with history and respect for those who gave their lives on that fateful day in 1941. 忘れられない旅となるでしょう。
