The all-suite condominium-style Aston at the Waikiki Banyan enjoys a long history as a favorite among locals and return visitors alike. Its ideal location near the excitement of Kalakaua Avenue makes it a destination for guests who like being in the midst of it all while still enjoying the peaceful side of Waikiki. On-site conveniences include a coffee shop and the largest recreation deck in Waikiki, which features barbecue grills, a children's playground area, swimming pool, sauna, and two jet spas. Each one-bedroom suite can accommodate up to five people at no additional charge and includes a separate living area, fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious private balcony overlooking the ocean, lush green mountains, or the Honolulu cityscape.
The pull out bed my grand daughter got accident, it’s not safe for kids. There’s a gap between the headrest and the best. The comforter looks dirty and the carpet. The appliances all broken not functional and usable
Great Waikiki Vacaction
This was our 3rd time staying at the Waikiki Banyan. Initially, the property was recommended to us by local freinds who had a long-term rental there. We previously stayed at the Hale Koa in 2015 and 2016 which was exceptional but it was time to go the condo route. We almost cancelled our trip but decided to follow-through with our travel plans even though the Governor pleaded for tourists to cancel/reschedule their trips. We spoke to some local freinds who stated now was the best time to come. Glad we did. It was one of the best Hawaiian vacations. Everything went perfectly and the staff and services at the Waikiki Banyan were outstanding. Cliff and Randy deserve special mention for their smiles, engagng discussions and customer service. They are always great. Pool /Spa areas were open and we could see the staff in the early morning hours performing their regular maintenance to keep these areas clean and safe. The general lobby and other public areas, elevators, parking deck etc were all clean and safe. There are BBQ grills near the pool area where you can grill as well. For a 2+ week trip it is a better deal to just get a monthly parking tag if you have a car. Only a little more than a block from Waikiki's Kuhio Beach. Aquarium, Zoo, Park and shopping all within a very short walk. Great location for families.
The stay was one of the worse rooms I have ever booked. The condition of the room was very poor. Carpeting had mold on it by the sliding door. Told staff twice and nothing was done. The toaster did not work. Had to get a new one. The toilet you had to hold the lever down for 15 seconds to get it to flush. Really! Somehow as a couple we ended up with twin beds. Wow! The base boards were very worn. No ice maker which would have been ok if we had ice trays, there were none. No baking trays or large baking pans. The fan and light above the stove you had to turn on several times to get them to work. Plastic chairs on the balcony, really for the price you paid, plastic chairs? The staff at times came across like we were bothering them or were idiots if we asked a question that may have seemed obvious to them but not to us. Some of the staff was very helpful, not all! The tub did not drain well. The clock on the wall did not work. The only positive thing we could say about the room is that the shower was great with plenty of hot water. The pool had some white substance floating in the corner, not sure how well the filtration system is working. Also, would be a nice perk if some umbrellas were put out by the pool. We would not recommend staying at your property to anyone. A trip to Hawaii with the prices paid should come with a better room then we received. Only disappointing thing to our entire stay. The room needs a complete upgrade!
The people at the front do not give the same information and when I ask them it felt like I was bothering them. Curtains in my room were torn and the front desk had no clue about it. Don’t they check the rooms before they rent them
Convenient, Charming, & Clean!
(Raleigh, North Carolina)
Overall we have no complaints! Quick check-in, four working elevators, beautiful lobby, convenient location- 1 block to Waikiki beach & 1 block to the bus stop, kind staff, clean hotel, clean room, no noise issues, great view, & overall we loved our stay! Definitely got a great price for our six night stay in July, a lot of bang for the buck. I will say the beds seemed to be more full-sized than queen-sized, the pool is not 6 feet deep even though it states that it’s 6 feet deep (I’m 5.10 & my whole head was above the surface when I stood flat on my feet), & the wifi wasn’t the best, but these were non-issues for our group. There’s a convenient minimart in the lobby that has a little bit of everything, and there’s a grocery mart two blocks away that is great, too. I highly recommend this place! Well worth your time & money. Very pleased with our stay! (:
